Top 15 Films to be Excited about for the next 2 years

The next two years are full of fantastic movies. Whether their franshise enders or the first movie these will all be great. The criteria for this list is that they have to be confimed and come out sometime in 2011 or 2012.
15. Cowboys and Aliens

Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford in the same movie is enough to sell anyone on this movie, but there is much, much more. A story that actually seems sort of interesting, a well established director and producer, and the extreme hotness of Olivia Wilde can sell anyone on to this movie.
14. Rango

Rango actually looks like it could work. Pixar's next film looks like it could be a tad bit weaker than what they have been offering the last three years and Rango looks like it could possibly fill that slot. Rango is the story of a chameleon who becomes the sherrif of a western town and comes to question who he really is. Just that Johnny Depp and Bill Nighy are attached means it will probably be great. It is also directed by Gore Vebrinski who did the Pirates series.
13. Pirates of the Carribean 4: On Stranger Tides

Four words: Captain Jack is back. No really, this will be a good movie just because of that. Even though the plot has him trying to find the fountain of youth, falling in love with Penolope Cruz, and running into Blackbeard. Oh, and Barbossa is back so thats good too.
12. Transformers 3

Let's face it: Transformers 2 sucked. The only good thing was Megan Fox and that one transformer chick. When Michael Bay decided to cut Megan from this film he cast a girl almost nearly as attractive, if not more. He also filmed in Chicago, which is my city so I'm happy as long as the plot doesn't suck.
11. Thor

Tho's accent is funny, and Natalie Portman is really talented and hot, so this movie looks like it will be a good lead in to the Avengers in 2012.
10. Spiderman Reboot

The suit is actually pretty good. Even though it is different. And the cast is full of great actors and actresses including Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield, so hopefully this movie will be a winner. And imagine this: it is as good as Iron Man, and Marvel decides to combine the two properties so it ends that Spidey gets invited to join the Avengers, EPIC!
9. The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo

Now, let it be known that I haven't read any of the books. But I have seen almost every movie David Fincher has made and I think that Rooney Mara is a fantastic actress. I think Daniel Craig will also be good in this movie.
8. Green Lantern

Green Lantern is one of the best superheroes. He has an awesome suit (although this one is an eyesore), great villains, and a great story. I think Ryan Reynolds was a great pic to play him and I hope that this movie will be a winner in the end.
7. The Hangover: Part 2
The Hangover 2 first image - Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms, Justin Bartha
I am not a huge fan of comedic films. Although I love the ocassional one, I usually go for more dramatic films. The Hangover was the occasional one. I laughed till I cired. The reason I put this on my list was simple: just look at Alan. Doesn't that prove to you we need these guys back?
6. Prometheus

This is the way you make a good sequel. Give the reins to a well astablished director and have a great cast. This could be a blunder (Robin Hood?) but in the end I hope it will suceed. If they ever make a sequel to Blade Runner, they should give it to a great director, I think Matt Reeves, and slap on Ridley Scott as executive producer, that would make the film a winner.
5. Super 8

Although almost nothing has been released about this movie that's just the way I like it. This film is the spiritual succeser to the film Cloverfield and will hopefully recapture the freshness of that movie. I will definitly see this movie.
4. The Avengers
Marvel Avengers
Great cast, great director, and some great newcomers (Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Mark Ruffalo as Ed Norton's replacement). This movie shows DC what they need to be focusing on. This movie will hopefully give Joss Whedon the respect he deserves from the mainstream film crowd.
3. Star Trek 2

The Star Trek reboot was the best high budget sci fi movie in recent years. It somehow succeded eveyware it could possibly have failed. The effects were gorgeus, the acting was top notch, heck even that stupid alien buddy of Simon Pegg was funny. They cast the perfect actor in every role also. Now there making a sequel. Hopefully this movie will be as good as Wrath of Khan or Empire Strikes back. Hopefully it will make the first one look like a ok movie instead of stellar. I can't wait to see if they do.
2. Harry Potter 7: Part 2

My generation grew up with Harry Potter. It doesn't matter if you make fun of it or not, you have to love this franchise. Harry Potter is as good as Lord of the Rings, James Bond, or Star Wars. It has a great story and fantastic characters. This movie will hopefully be heavily nominated at next years Academy Awards. Alan Rickman deserves a Oscar for his protrayal as Snape. They need to make the deaths hurt, make Snape as good a charater as he is and end the movie with the John Williams theme. Then this movie will be absolutly perfect.
1. The Dark Knight Rises

Chris Nolan is the modern day Stanley Kubrick. He gets whatever he wants to make his films and as much time as he needs. The Dark Knight was probably the greatest film I have ever seen and the sequel will be even better. Gotham is in unrest. Their leader is dead and Batman  has blamed for the murder of five civilians. Commisoner James Gordon is forced to hunt him down (Oscar nomination). Alfred (Oscar Nomination) is trying to keep Bruce together during this time period. Queue Robin Williams as Hugo Strange (Oscar Nomination). He is hired to help figure out who Batman is and goes crazy over this manhunt. Catwomen comes in to help clean up the streets of Gotham, clashing with Batman who wants to be the only Gotham vigilante. Strange hires Bane to help figure out who Batman really is and they clash in an epic fight scene. Gordon will be joined in his search by young detective Dick Grayson (Gordon Levitt) who deduces Batman's identity and decides to join Batman as Nightwing. (Heck no to Robin). That would make this movie freaking epic and will hopefully win best picture and Nolan will finally be nominated for his work.
